JOINS “ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT”
Latin Singer-Songwriter-Actor Sensation Joins#1 Syndicated Entertainment Newsmagazine
(Hollywood,
California -- July XX, 2003) – Carlos Ponce has joined Paramount
Domestic Television’s ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT as an ET
Personality, it was announced today by the show’s executive
producer Linda Bell Blue. Ponce will report on film,
television, music and fashion for the most-watched entertainment
newsmagazine in the world.
In making the
announcement, Ms. Bell Blue commented, “Carlos has emerged as an
incredible and multi-talented Latin entertainer who has won the
hearts of millions of fans. We are extremely excited to have
him join the show, where his global perspective on entertainment
will be featured across many different formats.” A major star in the Latin entertainment world, Ponce first appeared in several Spanish soap operas in addition to hosting and producing “Control,” a magazine show for Spanish television, which earned him two regional Emmys and numerous other awards. His acting career took off when he starred in the telenovela “Sentimientos Ajenos,” a 60-episode Spanish-language soap opera.
During his successful run on the
nighttime drama, Carlos captured the attention of music
executives after singing one of the songs on the show’s
soundtrack. A multi-year record deal lead to numerous #1 hits,
double-platinum albums, and numerous awards including Billboard
Magazine’s “Best Pop Album, New Artist” and “Best New Artist”
honors. Most recently, he entered the American acting arena
with a guest appearance on the critically-acclaimed series “Once
and Again,” and a recurring role on The WB hit series, “7th
Heaven.” He will also be seen this Fall as a featured
guest-star on the premiere episode of ABC’s “Karen Sisco,” as
well as the 8th season premiere episode of “7th
Heaven.”
