SINGING SENSATION CARLOS PONCE WILL HOST
TELEMUNDO'S REALITY SHOW “PROTAGONISTAS DE LA MUSICA”

Miami, FL – October xx, 2002 – Internationally renowned singer/actor Carlos Ponce has signed on with Telemundo to host “Protagonistas de la Música” –- Spanish television’s first musical reality show and a sequel to Telemundo’s hit reality series “Protagonistas de Novela” – which will debut in late October, announced Manuel Martínez-Llorián, Executive Vice President of Programming for the Network.

“We wanted to give our viewers a host with that special combination of heart, charm and personality, said Martínez-Llorián. “Carlos encompasses all of that and more, he is one of the premiere stars of the Latin music industry and is someone who our 14 young men and women will look up to. We are thrilled to have him join us.”

Last season, Telemundo made history with “Protagonistas de Novela.” The show became a blockbuster hit, setting all-time ratings records for Telemundo among the coveted teen and young adult demos. Now, the network presents a can’t-miss new version of that series, “Protagonistas de la Música,” in which 14 talented musicians and singers (seven men and seven women) are voluntarily held “captive” in a television studio for weeks, competing against each other to win a recording contract from Sony Discos.

Special musical guests and top record producers will interact with the participants and judge their talents, with both contestants and television viewers voting to determine who goes and who stays.
Ponce will serve as host of the show, as well as mentor to the participants, guiding them through the learning, growing, and audition process. The music star, who has 3 novelas and 3 albums under his belt, has won the hearts of millions around the world with his talent and charm. The Puerto Rican born performer says “I couldn’t be more thrilled to be part of such an important and exciting project; this will be an unforgettable experience, not only for the contestants, but also for me.”

CARLOS PONCE FIRMA CON TELEMUNDO PARA CONDUCIR
“PROTAGONISTAS DE LA MUSICA”

Miami, FL – xx de octubre del 2002 – El popular cantante y actor Carlos Ponce ha firmado con Telemundo para ser el conductor de su próximo reality show, “Protagonistas de la Música”, que se estrenará próximamente, anunció hoy Manuel Martinez-Llorián, vicepresidente ejecutivo de programación para la cadena.

En la temporada pasada, Telemundo hizo historia con el primer reality show de la televisión en español de los EEUU “Protagonistas de Novela”. El debut logró romper récords de ratings en la muy codiciada franja demográfica de los adolescentes y jóvenes. Ahora, Telemundo presenta una nueva versión del programa, “Protagonistas de Música”. Esta vez, los protagonistas son catorce talentosos músicos y cantantes — siete mujeres y siete hombres — que voluntariamente acuerdan vivir juntos durante varias semanas en un estudio de televisión compitiendo los unos con los otros para ganar el gran premio final — un contrato con Sony Discos.
